Class of 2024 and 2025 High School Students

WHAT

Five Multi-Year Scholarships ($2000/yr) and Co-op/ Internship Offer

WHY

To recognize, inspire, and support talented future software engineers

COMPETITION INFORMATION

  • Register using the online form prior to the deadline (May 12th @ midnight)
  • Participation limited to 50 students. Selection to participate based on GPA, planned college major, geographical location, and a short essay detailing your affinity for the Great Lakes Bay Region
  • Competition specs will be released to applicants at the same time with focus on creating an embedded controller that is capable of solving a series of challenges and puzzles based upon specific requirements and processes. This will be followed by an on-site demonstration (must attend in-person June 20)
  • Applicants preferred to provide their own pc or laptop – Nexteer will provide all other required hardware
  • Selected participants will be notified on May 13th and will receive a development starter kit ($45 value) with tutorial manuals for use in the competition. Nexteer will coordinate kit deliver by mail with arrival by May 17th. Kits are yours to keep as a thank you from Nexteer for participating!

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

  • High school graduating class must be Class of 2024 or Class of 2025
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Plan on attending a post-secondary school within the State of Michigan focusing on an engineering degree, including but not limited to: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

  • 5 applicants will be awarded a 4-year Scholarship ($2,000 per year) along with a Co-Op / Internship Offer

COMPETITION TIMELINE

4. Competition Kick-Off

Kits will be distributed and competition instructions will be posted!

5. Part I: Submission Deadline

JUNE 16

All Scholarship competition entries must be submitted by 11:59PM.

6. Part II: On-site Demonstration

JUNE 20

All selected applicants who submitted contest entries will be invited on-site for the online demonstration portion of the scholarship competition. Demonstrations will be held from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

7. Award Announcement

JUNE 27

All Scholarship award winners will be announced!
